Who Is Bomani X, The New Face Of Clubhouse

For the past 2 years, all of our favorite social media platforms have started to look the same. LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube were the latest to add stories to resemble Snapchat’s innovation, Instagram added reels to rival Tik Tok, and you can go live almost everywhere.

But then along came Clubhouse, a new app with a promising feature to build communities and support systems with nothing but audio and common interest. The invite only app has caused a lot of buzz how unique the engagement is and the authentic conversations one can have.

But the most interesting thing I’ve observed is not what’s in the app but what you see when you go download the app from the App Store.

The hottest app out right now and one of the biggest disrupters decided to make the icon that represents the app to be a Black man named Bomani.

When I saw this I immediately had flashbacks to the first time I visited Atlanta and saw Black faces represented in beautiful murals all across the city.

But I wondered, who is Bomani?

Bomani is first and foremost an artist. He is a Black guitarist, singer songwriter, and celebrity digital strategist who has worked with Jill Scott, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Wyclef, and more.

He’s the founder of Lit.Spins. It’s coming up on it’s 5 year anniversary of Bomani creating this service where he pairs albums to books in the first ever vinyl + book subscription box.

He’s also the co-founder of the New Perspectives Party, an LA based skill-sharing network that host a series of invite-only house concerts, jam sessions, and creative hackathons.

Congratulations Bomani for becoming the most recent face of the Clubhouse app and we look forward to following your journey.
