Loc Journey w/ Trina-K
You may have been warned that you won't get a job, accepted into a school, or just won't be taken seriously. Your loc journey may have all types of challenges that you don't know how to face, but we're here to tell you... You Are Not Alone.
We sat down with Trina-K to learn more about her Loc Journey of 3 years. Below is what she had to say:
How long have you had your locs?
3 years and 7 months
Do you remember what inspired you to grow locs?
I was intrigued by the versatility, beauty, and low maintenance that comes with locs.
What's the most important lesson you've learned along your hair journey?
That a little can go a long way, with locs! I remember spending hours getting my hair done in the past. Now, I spend a fraction of the time on my hair.
What advice would you give to a person that wants to loc their hair?
Do it! And I don’t want to hear anything about an “ugly phase,” there is no such thing! We as a people need to stop saying that. Everything is a process. If you want the result, respect the process.
Do you have any hair tips you'd like to share?
Seek a professional, read and consider advice from people with hair like yours. Everything is figure-out-able!
What does professionalism mean to you?
Professionalism is having a good work ethic, and being respectful to others.
What's something you enjoy doing or what's one thing you're passionate about?
I’m passionate about Personal Development and helping others who are on their journey.
