Walter Gainer II

Host, Producer, CEO, and Founder of Boss Locks Media.

Walter is a Boss with Locs using his platform to redefine professionalism, elevate Black voices, and prove that natural hair and professionalism do coexist.

His show, Boss Locks, is a platform used to share stories from Black leaders, CEOs, and just overall dope people in an effort to lead the world to the realization that we don’t have to conform to make it in this world.

His journey thus far has been a mix of self doubt, fear of being seen, and being the only Black person in the room.

But the journey has also included living by his own set of rules, finding purpose through creativity, and creating a space for Black people to be heard.

In October of 2018, Walter moved to Atlanta to fast track the beginning of his media production company, Boss Locks. Through sharing stories, resources, and knowledge, Walter hopes to use his platform to create support systems for people Working While Black.

“I’m tired of seeing people in power use ideas and perspectives to hold people, who look like me, back. I’m taking things like the idea of professionalism and preventing people in power from using it to discriminate against Black people and people of color. I’m redefining professionalism and proving that we can be exactly who we want to be, all starting with proving that natural hair and professionalism do coexist.”
