They say pressure makes diamonds, but it also causes things to break.
We use stories of people thriving under pressure as a tool for motivation, but they’re just an excuse to ignore the signs saying we need a break.
We barely support people who are over capacity. Which makes ridiculing someone for “cracking under pressure” a contradictory behavior.
I’m noticing how easy it is to slip into unhealthy practices like this, as I’m learning how to create healthy work environments.
Even in my own independent work.
